When Daria Levchyshyna introduces herself, she does so with quiet confidence. She describes herself as someone who is always striving to grow — staying humble, seeking meaningful opportunities, and finding joy in helping others succeed. For her, fulfillment comes from continuous learning and living a purposeful life.
Today, she channels that philosophy into her role as Director of Marketing at Waldorf Astoria Kuwait, where she leads the brand’s creative and strategic direction with precision and vision. “My role is to uphold and strengthen the image of Waldorf Astoria,” she explains. From global partnerships to digital strategy and cross-department initiatives, Daria ensures the property remains a benchmark of modern luxury and exceptional guest experiences in the region.
A Dynamic, Creative World
For Daria, the magic of marketing lies in its constant movement. “Every day is different,” she says. Campaigns, collaborations, activations, pop-ups, and media visits keep her work fresh and dynamic. She thrives in the balance between structure and creativity — following clear plans while leaving room for new ideas and opportunities. She especially enjoys meeting people, building connections, and crafting stories that bring the Waldorf Astoria brand to life.
Her days begin with a large office board — a visual map of social media plans, events, collaborations, and project updates. She reviews, reprioritizes, and then prepares her to-do list before joining the morning commercial meeting. From there, her focus shifts to whatever drives the biggest impact that day, whether brand alignment, content development, or supporting major initiatives across departments.
Why Waldorf Astoria, and Why Kuwait
Daria’s career spans several high-end hotels across the GCC, including memorable chapters in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Riyadh impressed her with its ambition and transformation under Vision 2030, but she missed the sea — a source of serenity and creativity for someone who grew up near the Black Sea.
When the opportunity at Waldorf Astoria Kuwait appeared, she was immediately drawn to the brand’s heritage and prestige. Researching further, she realized how exceptional the property would be. “I came to Kuwait not knowing much,” she says. “None of my friends had visited before. But being by the sea again felt right. Now, I can say I love both Waldorf Astoria and Kuwait.”

Beyond Social Media: The Depth of Hospitality Marketing
One misconception Daria wishes she could correct is the assumption that marketing equals social media and PR. “It is much broader and more strategic,” she explains. With a strong digital background, she sees how many hotels still underestimate e-commerce, SEO, and data-driven strategy. “These areas are essential today — not only for visibility, but for driving real business results.”
Her foundation is as unique as her journey: an undergraduate degree in computer engineering followed by an MBA. She originally wanted to study journalism, but a missed exam led her down a different path. Two years into engineering, she realized it wasn’t for her — and that’s when hospitality found her. Her first role, as a hostess at The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, unexpectedly opened the door to creative assignments that sparked her interest in marketing.
From there, she pursued her passion intentionally. She moved between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, earned digital marketing certifications from Meta Blueprint and Google during the pandemic, and taught herself e-commerce and website building. A role in an educational startup followed — and her marketing career accelerated across several sectors of hospitality.

Leading With Structure and Humanity
Now, as a marketing director, Daria leads with a philosophy shaped by experience. People see her as strong, structured, and deadline-driven. Early in her career, she often managed teams older than herself, an experience that taught her to adapt her leadership style to each individual. “Leadership begins with observation,” she says. “You need to understand your team’s strengths and potential before guiding their development.”
Though she isn’t the most talkative person, her team knows she stands firmly behind them. “They know I will always protect and support them, no matter the situation.”
She firmly believes leadership is learned. “Every culture, every challenge shapes you,” she says. Reading biographies and business books keeps her inspired and reminds her that leadership is a lifelong journey. “You evolve with time, experience, and reflection.”
Her message to her younger self? Learn with intention. “Every skill, every challenge becomes useful later, often in unexpected ways,” she says. She would also whisper a reminder: be patient. Success takes time, and every step builds the foundation for what comes next.
Looking Ahead
Over the next five years, Daria hopes to take on a regional or corporate brand leadership role. Her ambition is to shape the strategic direction of luxury hospitality brands on a broader scale — driving innovation, ensuring consistency, and elevating brand perception. She is particularly passionate about integrating digital transformation, data-driven insights, and authentic storytelling into the luxury hospitality landscape.
At the same time, mentoring rising marketing professionals is close to her heart. “I want to share the mindset, discipline, and creativity required to lead luxury brands with purpose.”
A Life Full of Balance and Inspiration
Outside of work, Daria finds joy in activities that help her reset and recharge. She plays the piano, reads, roller skates, and enjoys long walks by the sea. Solo travel gives her new energy and creative perspective. “It keeps me inspired,” she says simply — a reminder that creativity often thrives in stillness and self-reflection.
