IKEA Kuwait promised us 70 days of celebrations, offers, and surprises to commemorate its strategic partnership with Kuwait’s Ya Hala Festival, and they are surely delivering! The beloved brand is spearheading the celebrations with joy and passion; every IKEA location is a hallmark destination to mark this special time for Kuwait. IKEA CEO Marino Maganto shares with us how each day of the special Ya Hala campaign promises unforgettable memories for families in Kuwait, reflecting the lasting impact of IKEA on the local community.
We were met with an atmosphere of vibrancy and excitement as we got ready to chat with Maganto. His easygoing demeanor and open smile mirror every staff member we meet at IKEA; they’re always happy to connect with people on the ground, but more importantly, they’re excited about Ya Hala!
Maganto explained that it was only a natural decision for IKEA Kuwait to come aboard the nationwide campaign as a strategic partner. “For us, Ya Hala is more than just offers and products; it is a 360-degree celebration. It is truly unprecedented to have a festival of this size in Kuwait and we wanted to share in every joyful moment with our customers. It is really about building that connection with our customers.”
IKEA Kuwait’s event calendar perfectly reflects Maganto’s excitement. The festival boasts a jam-packed calendar, with fresh activities unfolding daily from carnivals, shows, family events, competitions and so much more filling up the entire 70-day duration of the Ya Hala Festival, in addition to more than a thousand IKEA products boasting special Ya Hala prices.
Most recently, IKEA Kuwait wrapped up the second edition of its annual Family Fun Day. Families showed up to put their devices away to come together and enjoy games, competitions, free food, and raffles. The fun didn’t stop there, with Carnivals quickly following suit at IKEA The Warehouse, and The Avenues. There’s even theatre nights, art-driven activities, and fun in-store competitions to spread the joy, all season long.
The IKEA Ya Hala season calendar is easily accessible on social media and the IKEA website, with direct registration links for all of the upcoming events and activities ongoing until March 31st. Connecting with the local community at this level echoes deeply with IKEA Kuwait’s values, as Maganto illustrates how the Ya Hala campaign at IKEA is not just about shopping. Simply put, “Come and have a great time. It is really about celebrating the heritage of Kuwait, the people of Kuwait, and this great nation. I don’t expect people to come every day to buy something. That is not the goal. The goal is to have fun and enjoy this time together.” This is the IKEA mindset we’ve grown to adore, deeply rooted in understanding the community’s needs and wants and the strongest driver behind a successful four-decade journey in Kuwait.
‘Ya Hala Feekom b IKEA’ is taking over our socials, and the star of the show has to be the IKEA FAMNIG HJÄRTA mascot, now donning the Ya Hala brand colors. Maganto highlighted how families are very important to IKEA, and how HJÄRTA will be sharing the joy all across Kuwait, “As we want to symbolically celebrate Ya Hala with our kids, HJÄRTA will be traveling all across Kuwait spreading joy. We also created a special booklet where kids can collect a stamp with every IKEA visit across 10 weeks to claim a fun prize.” He then excitedly revealed, “Every child that participates, up to the age of 12, will get a prize, and 10 kids will get the room of their dreams.”
With Ramadan right around the corner, Ya Hala at IKEA Kuwait is not stopping, as they have specially crafted events that will flawlessly take the local community throughout the Holy month of Ramadan. Maganto said, “Every week, we will present a theme that ties to ‘Life at Home’. We’ve curated different activities during this special time, respecting traditions, and respecting the importance of Ramadan, while also taking care of our families during that journey.”
So what are you waiting for? Come out and join the festive fun. Ya Hala Feekom b IKEA!
